The most important form of discipline is the one that is self imposed.
I have learned that discipline is being able to have self-control, knowing my limits, saying no to people or things that will only bring short term pleasure at the expense of long-term growth, and complete the task I start, without making excuses.
Personal Discipline is the indispensable key for accomplishing anything in this life.
For the longest time my focus was on removing the bad habits (symptoms) in my life by trying to control my environment, but I realized the real problem was lack of SELF-DISCIPLINE (root cause).
So I made a list of all areas I needed to make a conscious divestment of the things that were holding me back.
Everyday I practiced forming one new discipline, and when I succeeded, I made sure I rewarded myself, to keep motivated. When I failed, I would reassess which particular area I need to work on, and keep practicing until I succeeded.
With each new discipline, I feel more in control of my life and an increased sense of peace and purpose.
