Every goal we set comes with array of challenges to face - these challenges manifest as obstacles that we must learn how to overcome.
One of the greatest lessons I am learning through my journey is to have Faith & Wisdom. As the testing of Faith produces perseverance (James 1:3), and Wisdom yields patience (Prov 19:11).
I lost sight of what was really important when I began to doubt myself and became impatient of the process, causing me to shift my focus on my problem that was holding my Goals in hostage.
I got so trapped in self-petty and how to overcome my troubles that I dwelled in them making for so long, making them my ultimate goal.
You see obstacles are there to overcome, not to rest in.
I began to look within for the answers - as I know I am uniquely made in God’s image have been given the ability and tools needed to succeed (Rom 12:6; Deut 8:18) - and realized I was living a self-centered, selfish life instead of a self-less life. Even though I glorified and honored God, I was the type of person that had to be in control of my own life.
This led me to live how I wanted to live, and pray when it was convenient or when in trouble.
This manifested in poor thinking and living style causing me to neglect what really mattered. I waited for circumstances to cause the change, instead of changing my circumstances.
I know I am not perfect and will make mistakes, and that's ok! The important part is not to dwell in my mistakes, but learn from them and push forward to by keeping my eyes on my Goal, and use that as a daily reminder.
Obstacles are not there to keep you defeated, they are meant to be a stepping stone to help you succeed.
