What comes from the Heart

Have you ever over analyzed something for so long that you made the issue seem bigger then what it originally was.

This is something that I battled with for a very long time. I would over analyze everything to the point that it consumed me, stirred up negative emotions, and triggered irrational, impulsive decisions, which I would later regret. Ultimately I allowed the lack of control of my thoughts to determine my circumstances and environment.

There is a famous Proverbs that says “AS A MAN THINKETH IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE..." [Prov 23:7]. Essentially, each person's thinking & core identity is a reflection of, and determined by, conditions of the heart.

What I learned is not to accept what everyone says, or what read as my own. But learning and practicing the art of filtering and accepting the information that is valid and true and rejecting the ones that will negatively impact my life. Which in turn allows me to influence, direct, and eventually control my own environment, making my life what I want it to be.

What's the alternative? Neglect!

Neglect to exercise this gift, and as Napoleon Hill said it well " thus casting yourself upon the broad sea of “Circumstance” where you will be tossed hither and yon, like a chip on the waves of the ocean.”
